1. Provider and agreement
FuelSum is provided by PASHOTECH LTD, 1 Kingsfield Oval, Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire, ST4 6HN, United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: support@fuelsum.app. Registration details are available in Legal information.
These Terms apply to FuelSum and its related services. Please read them before selecting Accept Terms. By selecting that control, you agree to these Terms. You must have the legal capacity or authorisation required by applicable law to enter into the agreement and make a purchase.
Our Privacy Policy explains information handling. Accepting these Terms does not grant location or notification permissions, and granting those permissions is not acceptance of these Terms.
2. What FuelSum provides
FuelSum helps you record fuel spending and recognise possible fuel stops. A reminder asks whether you refuelled; it is not confirmation of a purchase or proof of the amount paid. Save an entry only for an actual purchase, or choose No fuel to dismiss the suggestion.
Check the amounts, currency, dates and station details you enter. FuelSum is not a substitute for receipts, legally required records or professional tax and accounting advice. You do not need a FuelSum account.
3. Permissions, reliability and safe use
Automatic station recognition requires the relevant station pack and the location permissions needed by the feature, including precise and background location. Notifications must be allowed for reminder notifications to appear. Manual fuel entry does not require location permission.
Recognition uses station data stored on your phone. Obtaining that data and verifying purchases require network access. FuelSum does not promise station coverage in every country or that every station listing is current or complete.
Location accuracy, device and battery settings, operating-system restrictions, station data and interruptions can affect recognition. A reminder may be delayed, missed or triggered where no fuel was bought. Battery consumption varies by device and usage; a test result is not a guarantee for every phone.
Enter, review or confirm information only while safely parked. FuelSum is not a navigation, emergency, vehicle-safety or fuel-level monitoring service.
4. Monthly subscriptions and trials
This section applies when paid access is offered. The subscription provides: access to FuelSum's features, including recording and editing refuels, automatic fuel-stop recognition and reminders, and reports. Access without an active subscription is: limited to subscription management, exporting a backup of your refuels, help and support, and legal information. Your saved refuels stay on your phone and become available again when you subscribe or restore a purchase. If the subscription cannot be checked because you are offline, you can still view your refuels.
Before purchase, the offer shows the monthly billing period, total price and currency, included features, automatic renewal and any eligible trial. The price comes from the relevant store. Review the offer before confirming.
Where the store offers you a seven-day free trial, the subscription becomes paid at the displayed monthly price after the trial unless cancelled before charging begins. Eligibility and the actual offer must be confirmed by the store; not every user is necessarily eligible for a trial.
Payment is handled through Google Play Billing or Apple's App Store in-app purchase system. The store's transaction terms and the contracting entity identified for your country also apply. We remain responsible for FuelSum and our obligations to you; using a store to process payment does not remove those responsibilities.
A monthly subscription renews automatically and the applicable store account is charged unless renewal is cancelled. Any change to an existing subscription price requires the notices and any agreement required by applicable law and store rules.
5. Cancellation, restoration and expiry
Use Manage subscription in FuelSum to open the relevant store's subscription-management service, or manage it directly through the store account used to purchase it. Cancel before the renewal date to avoid the next charge. For an App Store free trial, cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends to avoid the trial converting to paid access.
Uninstalling, clearing app data, disabling permissions or turning reminders off does not cancel a subscription.
Cancellation normally stops future renewal while access continues for the remaining paid period. Different rules may apply to a trial, a refund or a statutory right to immediate cancellation. The store shows the applicable expiry date.
Features requiring a subscription become unavailable when the entitlement ends. Expiry does not itself delete your fuel entries; they remain on the phone subject to the retention and deletion rules in the Privacy Policy.
Use Restore purchases for eligible purchases associated with the relevant store account. Restoring paid access is separate from restoring local fuel records and does not create a FuelSum cloud history. Contact support if a valid purchase is not recognised.
6. Refunds and withdrawal rights
You may request a refund through the relevant store or contact us about a defective service or an incorrect charge. Store procedures operate alongside, not instead of, your mandatory legal rights.
Where applicable law provides a cooling-off or withdrawal right, it remains available unless a lawful exception applies. Immediate access to digital content or services does not, by itself, waive that right. Any exception requiring separate express consent or acknowledgment applies only when those requirements are met. Accepting these Terms alone is not such a waiver.
These Terms do not impose a blanket no-refunds rule or remove remedies for a service that is not supplied as agreed.
7. Records and exports
Your fuel history is stored locally, not in an account operated by us. The retention rules in the Privacy Policy apply. Keep an export of records you need before changing phones, deleting app data or any applicable automatic cleanup.
You choose the destination for exported files and are responsible for checking who can access those copies. We cannot recover a local history from our servers because we do not keep a copy there. Device loss, storage failure or deletion can make local records unavailable.
These precautions do not exclude responsibility we have for loss caused by our breach or fault.
8. Licence and third-party rights
For Android, we grant you a non-exclusive licence to use FuelSum for its intended lawful purposes on devices you own or are authorised to use, subject to these Terms and applicable store rules.
For iOS, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app licence. These Terms govern the FuelSum service and do not replace that standard licence or restrict rights it provides.
You retain your rights in your fuel records. Rights in the software, branding and datasets remain with us or the relevant rights holders. Third-party software and station-data licences apply to their respective components. Station data is based on OpenStreetMap and is subject to the Open Database License. Corresponding notices and data-access information are available in Licences and acknowledgements.
9. Acceptable use
Do not fraudulently bypass purchase verification, obtain unauthorised access, disrupt our services or unlawfully copy or redistribute protected parts of FuelSum. Restrictions do not override activities permitted by applicable law or rights granted by an open-source or data licence.
We may proportionately restrict online-service access to address purchase fraud, unauthorised access, a material security threat or another serious breach of these Terms. Where practicable, we will explain the issue and allow it to be resolved before restricting access, unless immediate action is necessary. Restrictions do not remove any mandatory refund or other remedy.
10. Updates, changes and test versions
We will provide FuelSum with the care, conformity and updates required by applicable law. Updates may address defects, security, compatibility or legal requirements. Changes will not retrospectively remove accrued rights or allow us to disregard existing paid commitments.
Before a material change to an existing paid service or these Terms, we will provide appropriate advance notice and any required choice to accept the change or end the affected service with the remedies required by law. The same protections apply if we discontinue a paid service.
A version expressly identified as test or beta software is pre-release and may contain defects or change before release. Keep independent copies of important records. Test status does not remove mandatory legal rights or privacy obligations.
11. Responsibility
The detection limitations explained above are not a disclaimer of responsibility for defects or failure to provide what was agreed. We are responsible for loss caused by our breach or failure to exercise the care required by law.
We are not responsible for loss caused solely by your incorrect entries, unlawful misuse or unauthorised changes to the app where no breach or fault on our part contributed to the loss.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for fraud, deliberate wrongdoing, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your mandatory consumer and data-protection rights remain unaffected.
12. Applicable law and complaints
These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the law applicable in your country of habitual residence.
You may bring a dispute before any court that has jurisdiction under applicable law. These Terms do not require you to use an exclusively foreign court or give up mandatory rights to bring a claim where you live.
For questions or complaints, contact support@fuelsum.app. Contacting support does not restrict other available remedies.
